Retail giant, Walmart, has thrown their hat in the online bedding ring. Yet, Allswell Home is about more than just mattresses. According to founder Arlyn Davich, the goal is to blend functionality with fashion. This price conscious line includes four limited-edition bedding sets. Created by top fashion designers, these “bedscapes” add a touch of affordable elegance. It’s noteworthy, Allswell is entirely run by women and proud of it. They have celebrated female empowerment by renaming their King size mattress the “Queen Supreme”. The new site, Allswellhome.com, was launched in late February and features the complete Allswell collection. We’ll explore all the pros and cons of their intriguing new mattress line up.
What type of mattress is the Allswell Luxe Classic?
Multiple layers of Memory foam and support foams combine for a spring-less comfort feel. Allswell also produces a model call the Luxe Classic, Firmer. This mattress adds a pocketed coil to create a firmer bed.
Allswell Luxe Classic Highlights

Construction
Both the Luxe Classic and Luxe Classic, firmer have built in plush toppers that are designed to add extra softness. Both are wrapped in a smooth, breathable fabric that’s cool to the touch. By varying memory foam densities and adding a quality coil unit to the firm, two distinctive comfort options were created.
The Luxe Classic:
- 1″ of 2 lb. memory foam (9 ILD)
- 1.5″ of 2 lb. memory foam (9 ILD)
- 1″ of 2.75 air flow foam
- 3″ of 1.7 lb. super soft foam
- 5.5″ of 1.625lb HD foam (38 ILD)
The Luxe Classic, Firmer:
- 1″ of 2 lb. memory foam (9 ILD)
Note: It’s essential a Queen or King have a frame with a sturdy center support and additional legs on the ground. Over time, inferior frames can affect the support and longevity of your mattress.

Allswell Luxe Classic
This particular mattress is designed to be the softer of Allswells mattress options. It’s worth noting, people of different sizes interpret firmness levels differently. A smaller individual with less body mass will not experience as much body hug as someone larger. This makes both options feel a bit firmer. A heavier person will sink into the mattress further and feel as though each bed is a little softer. Bare this in mind when choosing a firmness level. During our testing, several individuals of varying body types tried out the Luxe Classic. While some found it softer than others, the general consensus was that this a relatively firm mattress. This was surprising considering this is the “softer” option.
Allswell Luxe Classic, Firmer
Based on our testing of the Luxe Classic, It’s pretty safe to assume this version is quite firm. While there are many people who prefer this feel, it may be to rigid for most side sleepers.
On your back…
Back sleepers who prefer a bit plusher feel will gravitate towards the Luxe Classic. While neither are super soft, the Luxe Classic, Firmer will offer a more structured feel. It’s 13 gauge coil unit offers beefier base support for larger body types.
On your side…
Between the two options, the Luxe Classic is the clear choice for most side sleepers. Our concern here is that this mattress will still not be soft enough for many. Side sleepers who are looking for deep pressure relieving body hug will not find it with either Allswell mattress.
On stomach…
Unlike side sleepers, stomach sleepers require a bit more firmness. In this case, either mattress is a viable option. Which one depends on your body size and personal preference. Stomach sleepers need a firmer support so their lower backs don’t dip and cause lumbar pain. An individual’s weight plays a part in just how firm that preference may be. Larger individuals should consider the firmer coil option.
Allswell Luxe Classic Pros and Cons
Pros:
- Low motion transfer: Limited partner sleep disturbance for couples
- Sleeps cool: Specialized quilted fabric keeps this mattress cool to the touch
- Support: Quality memory and support foams offer solid body alignment
- Affordable: This mattress is appropriately priced for its category
Cons:
- Limited firmness range: we tested the Luxe Classic and found it to be rather firm. Considering this is the softer of the two options, Allswell’s comfort range is relatively limited
- Noticeable odors when first unwrapped: We recommend leaving the mattress uncovered for the first few days. Our sample aired out within 48 hours.
Who Will Like This Mattress
Those seeking an affordable option to a high-priced retail mattress will find Allswell to be a good value for price conscious shoppers. There are enough unique qualities to make this a bed a choice worth considering.
If you’re looking for a cool sleeping mattress, Allswell should meet your needs. Cool sleeping quilted fabric cover and pocketed coils in the firmer option allow for significant air flow. Allswell Home makes no claims regarding cooling gels in their memory foam. Still, it was designed to be breathable and sleep cooler. We noticed no issues with heat retention during our trial of the softer mattress.
Couples who don’t want to disturb each other’s sleep will appreciate the Allswell’s low motion transfer. Our Testing revealed little to no sleep partner disturbance.
If you fall into either a firm to medium feel, Allswell’s two comfort options have you covered with their soft and firm options.
Who Will Not Like This Mattress
If you are sensitive to odors, be aware your Allswell mattress may emit a rather strong odor when initially opened. Although the scent dissipated after a few days, it was quite noticeable the first 24 hours. It’s important to note, this mattress emits no toxic chemicals into the air and poses no danger. The odor will fade soon and for most people it will not be bothersome. We do recommend keeping sheets and mattress protector off during the day for the first 48 hours. This will allow your mattress to breathe and air out.
Those seeking a ultra plush, super soft mattress, The Allswell mattress may not be for you. The “Luxe Classic” is more of a medium feel. It’s a comfort level that appeals to most but not all. Side sleepers with a high degree of pressure sensitivity may not get enough contouring and hug for the shoulders and hips.

You also have the option of waiving your 100 day comfort trial and pay no charge for removal of your old bedding. It’s an interesting proposition. But, one that you should consider carefully before deciding. A trial period provides good piece of mind when buying a mattress sight unseen.
Weighing under 80lbs, the Allswell mattress was relatively easy to bring into the home compared to some much heavier beds we’ve reviewed. Remember, white glove in home delivery and set up service is available if desired.
Once in the room it will be slept in, remove your mattress from its box. Place it on its platform prior to unwrapping. Cut through the first layer of plastic being careful not to damage the fabric topper during this process.
Your mattress will now begin to expand and take shape. How quickly it does so will depend a lot on the outside temperature. Memory foam will get significantly firmer if exposed to extreme cold. The day we received our mattress it was a chilly 20 degrees Fahrenheit. Spending the better part of the day on a cold truck, the effects were noticeable. It took several hours for our Allswell mattress to soften and expand completely. Over the next 24 hours, the mattress continued to soften slightly.

Conclusion
We found the Allswell to be a solid but, not exceptional mattress. Although you’ll get your money’s worth, our conclusion is that stronger options are available at marginally higher price points. Competitive models offer denser foams, more substantial coil systems and free delivery. Allswell Home should provide strong competition for similar well-established online brands like Casper, Leesa and Purple Mattress.
