Construction
Saatva 14.5” Mattress
The cover – Saatva’s cover is made from 100% GOTS certified organic cotton. The surface is a soft, breathable, and durable cover made with a natural thistle flame barrier, which doesn’t use any chemical fire retardant sprays. The cover also has a Guardin® botanical antimicrobial fabric treatment, and an organic damask bronze trim as a finishing touch.
Comfort foam – CertiPUR-US certified polyurethane-based foams provide the comfort layer. Depending on the firmness, density will range from 1.5 lb – 1.8 lb per cubic foot. The firmer the mattress, the denser the foam. Saatva’s foam pillow top is sewn under the cotton cover for a smooth, clean look.
Dual coil support – The top layer is a 4” 14.5 gauge, individually pocketed coil system. It’s designed for better body contour and reduced motion transfer. Total coil count of this layer is 884 for a standard queen. The 7.5” base layer utilizes 416 13 gauge coils for added support and structure. All coils are foam encased for better edge support.
Lumbar zone support technology – The center of the mattress uses active wire support for additional spinal alignment.
Saatva 11.5” Mattress
The 11.5″ model has a reduced base support layer of 4″ compared to the 14.5″ model’s 7″ base. The reduced base size allows the mattress to function with an adjustable base. It does, however, reduce the overall structure of the mattress slightly. That said, it’s still more than adequate for most sleepers.
Add An Adjustable Base
(Option available with 11.5” mattress only)
The Lineal™ Adjustable Base by Saatva is compatible with the original Saatva and Zenhaven mattress.
Combine 2 Twin XL mattresses and adjustable bases for side by side individual adjustability.

No one mattress will accommodate everyone’s comfort needs. That’s why the Saatva mattress is made in 3 distinct firmness levels. Choose from the firm, luxury firm, or plush soft comfort options.
Back Sleepers
Most back sleepers require a firm to moderate feel. The idea is to stay in proper alignment but still have decent pressure relief. Most will find their comfort zone with either the firm or the luxury firm. Your comfort will depend on physical condition and personal preference. A heavier individual with a higher BMI will be absorbed further into the mattress. In this case, the firm may be the answer. A lighter individual may choose the medium firm.
Side Sleepers
Again, it comes down to personal preference. Most side sleepers would do well with either the luxury firm or the plush soft. Weight, as well as individual pressure sensitivity, are a factor. The bottom line is you want solid support but also pressure relief. Side sleepers need to have enough contouring to eliminate pressure on the shoulders and hips.
Stomach Sleepers
Stomach sleepers will typically require a firmer mattress. It’s essential not to allow your back to dip too deep and cause lumbar pain. The luxury firm or firm are excellent choices for most. If you rotate to other sleep positions during the night, the luxury firm may be the safer bet. Side sleeping, in particular, requires a bit more conformity.

Who Will Like This Mattress
Those seeking solid support will appreciate the structural integrity and spinal alignment this mattress provides.
If you sleep hot, you’ll like Saatva. Its breathable design keeps you cool and comfortable.
Those looking for more than one comfort option will find three distinct options to consider.
Value seekers looking for a luxury mattress at a great price should consider Saatva.
Who Will Not Like This Mattress
If you like an ultra-soft mattress with a lot of body hug, this may not be your bed. Even the plush soft model will still offer a more structured feel.
Couples concerned with motion transfer may be more aware of their partner’s movements. The strength and structure of Saatva’s dual coil system has more bounce than other types of mattress. It’s a bit of a trade-off couples should consider.

Conclusion
Overall, We found Saatva to be quite impressive. It has all the support features of high-end retail mattresses sold for twice the price. The company backs its product with a comprehensive warranty and risk-free sleep trial period. Saatva also ranks high in customer satisfaction. The only real concern we found was some minor delays with delivery. That said, we feel this mattress is well worth the investment.
